Rio carnival
Rio Carnival, also known as "Carnaval do Brasil", is one of the world's most famous and spectacular events. It takes place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, every year before the start of Lent, with festivities officially beginning on Friday and continuing until Shrove Tuesday, just before Ash Wednesday. Rio Carnival is renowned for its samba parades, colorful costumes, lively music and festive atmosphere. During these days, samba schools parade through the famous Sambódromo, a stadium specially built for the event, where they present elaborate choreography, extravagant costumes and decorated floats. The schools are community groups who prepare their performances for months before Carnival. In addition to the samba parades, Rio Carnival also includes many other activities, such as blocos (street parties with music and dance), masked balls, costume contests and cultural events. Millions of people, both locals and tourists from all over the world, attend these festivities every year, making Rio Carnival one of the biggest and most famous carnivals in the world.
